We’ve been married going on 4 years and it has been the most wonderful years of our lives. We are absolutely each other’s best friend. As of now, our only child is a 100 lb. Golden Retriever, named Charlie…. And he is definitely treated like our child! We have a wonderful extended family that we love very much. Lauren grew up in Snellville, GA with her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister, while Mark was in Dallas, Georgia with his parents and 2 brothers.
We both have a passion for the Community and Youth, and have had the privilege of working with both, here and in other countries, such as Jamaica, Africa, and Mexico. Currently, Mark is the Community Pastor at River Church in Charleston, SC. Lauren got a nanny job when we moved here and is SO in live with the 2 little boys she keeps. She also owns a Seasonal Children’s Consignment Sale Company, which is growing super fast! On the side, we do Videography together for weddings and other events.
We moved to Charleston nearly 6 months ago as a part of a church plant. It was for sure not where we thought we would ever be, but we’re loving letting go of our plans and following the Lord through this life He’s given us. Our heart is to be apart of breaking down the church walls to allow Jesus to flow into the community. Not through “churchy” speeches and projects, but through truly loving people the way God has taught and shown us how to do.
Starting on September 11th, we will be going through the adoption process to adopt our first baby boy or girl. We are so thrilled to see just how God is going to bring us our little one, and can’t wait to have them in our arms.
We don’t know what all is in store for us, but we love knowing that God is leading us, and that we get to hold each other’s hand through it all.
Hey guys! It’s yer unk! Pops showed me your letter and I have taken the liberty of posting it on my website for all to see. I am also going to present your ministry to my online congregation (term used loosely) of almost 700 folks. One problem…I need contact info if I should get any bites. Dad sent in his pledge already, before he showed me the letter. Or should folks come here to your blog? Let me know. Hope I can help. The link on your letter works so folks will at least find your blog. I’m proud of you two! I remember the adventures God and I had together back in the SafeHouse Outreach days. I wish I could go with you!!! But I can’t do stuff like this anymore. My prayers are with you! I love you both dearly!!!
Unk!
